I think it is appropriate that I should let you know how pleased I was with your contribution to my birthday celebration.   As you know I was concerned how you would fit into the occasion but you did it perfectly and seamlessly.   We usually knew where you were by the shouts of amazement and laughter, and I have to say that inviting you to my party was the best decision I made.   People were still talking about you the following week.
